FARMHUB - WEATHER STATIONS
FarmHub is a precision agriculture startup. I worked with them on designing and developing multiple generations of weather stations. The final weather station contained eleven sensors that were powered by solar power and could remotely connect to a phone, computer, or tablet to give the farmer real time data about their fields.
I worked with FarmHub to develop an initial weather stack that was used in conjunction with a project box and solar panel to detect temperature & humidity. The initial system had a successful kickstarter campaign. I handled the industrial design and DFM, including communicating with the contract manufacturer for the injection molded parts.
I later designed a full weather station which integrated the temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, soil moisture & solar power. These prototypes were used in test deployments, got FarmHub into the hardware accelerator Highway1, which helped them to secure initial investment.
